Book club vote - 01

The book loving gang in our Discord-channel is setting out on a book club journey!

We'll start with a two week long short-story assignment that ends on a jolly google-hangouts party where we can chat about the story and show our appreciation for all things books.

If you'd like to partake in this craziness, join us in the Book of Fates Discord-channel. But be warned, it's not for the faint of heart.

That said, choosing which story to read is a responsibility one shouldn't take on lightly, and so we've left the responsibility to you, our dear Fates. All the books on the list are in public domain and hence free to read online.

Book club assignment options:

Option 1:

Carmilla

by Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu

"Carmilla" is a Gothic novella by Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu. First published in 1872, it tells the story of a young woman's susceptibility to the attentions of a female vampire named Carmilla. "Carmilla" predates Bram Stoker's Dracula by 25 years and has been adapted many times for cinema.

Option 2:

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

by Francis Scott Fitzgerald

F. Scott Fitzgerald, a pillar of American literature from 1920 through his death in 1940, published the short story “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” in 1922. “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” follows a 70-year-old man who is destined to age backwards.

Option 3:

The Phoenix on the Sword

by Robert Ervin Howard

"The Phoenix on the Sword" is the first of the Conan the Barbarian series, and begins with a middle-aged Conan of Cimmeria attempting to govern the turbulent kingdom of Aquilonia.

Click here to open the poll in new window if you can't see it here. The vote closes in two days August 14th 8pm Lisbon time.

Please choose wisely, our lives are in your hands.
